Wellness Interviews With Inspiring Women

Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Kate Bock’s career has blossomed into her being an iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model for several years in a row, a Victoria’s Secret model, and gracing the covers and pages of Vogue and Elle, yet she remains such an open and down to earth person. The life of an in-demand model involves a lot of intense travel so I wanted to chat with her about how she’s able to workout to maintain a healthy diet while constantly on the road. I also asked her for her “desert island” skincare picks and what she does to keep herself happy.
Munemi: You are a fitness enthusiast. What’s your workout routine like and how often do you exercise? Any philosophy/motivation to keep it up?
Kate: I do love to work out. I’m constantly traveling and try to incorporate workouts into my life wherever I am. Whether it’s a spin class with a girlfriend when I’m home, trying a yoga class in a new city, going on a run to learn a new place or using the hotel gym for a quick sweat, I always find a way to get a workout in!
M: I love eating healthily, but when I travel a lot it can get quite compromised. How do you balance your diet with constant traveling?
K: It is hard to stay consistent with healthy eating when you travel a lot. I try to pack snacks and healthy options with me at all times. I always bring a salad, some fruit, and almonds on a plane. Never do I ever eat plane food. I have instant oatmeal, almond butter packets and protein powder in my travel bag so I always have an option when I’m away from home. I try new restaurants and foods in new cities but always try to keep it as balanced and healthy as possible!
M: Yet, seeing new things and the experiences that come with travel are priceless. Where would you say is the most amazing place you have ever been to through modeling?
K: Hmmm, that’s a tough one. I got to live in Sydney, Australia for a couple months for work and I loved it there. The people, the beaches and the food!! I went to Trancoso, Brazil and stayed in a treefort hotel, Uxua Casa, and it was one of the most beautiful and special places that I’ve seen!!
M: What are your “desert island” skincare product picks and why?
K: I have dry skin so I love to use a nice moisturizing oil. I use the MŪN Akwi Purifying Cleanser. I find it cleanses my skin but also leaves it feeling fresh, smooth and moisturized. I then use the Aknari Brightening Youth Serum to lock in extra moisture. Those are my favorite go-to skin products - I also love the way they smell!
M: Now, for a different type of self-care - is there anything specific you like to do to make/keep yourself happy?
K: To stay happy I stay healthy and stay in close touch with my friends and family. I travel a lot so staying in contact with the people that matter most to me makes a big difference and keeps me happy!
