To celebrate the launch of our Travel Set and continue our dedication to self care and self love, we checked in with international model Michelle Buswell for the second installment of our travel beauty series. Whether posing for a Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance campaign, walking the runway for Ralph Lauren, or posing for the cover of Elle Magazine, Michelle has definitely done her fair share of worldwide travel. Who better to share their travel beauty tips? Check them out below!
The Frequent Flyer: Michelle Buswell, Model, 30s, Oily/Acne-prone Skin
The Trip: NYC to Paris | Duration: 7 hours
The night before: I am usually up late due to excitement, no matter how many trips I have under my belt. To prepare for a travel day, I love to enjoy a hot bath for relaxation and meditation. Before I get into skin pampering, I love to use the time with a conditioning mask soaking in my hair and my hair tied up in a bun. The heat from the bath keeps my scalp warm and the conditioner works best when the hair is warm. I like to try new products all the time.
Every evening I use a gentle cleanser. Once my skin is cleansed, my absolute favorite skin mask for a bath or in a hotel room is INDIE LEE’s Clearing Mask. It smells clean, it feels clean, it is the most beautiful color blue, and my skin feels pampered after using it.
After I am rinsed and finished with my bath I go to my absolutely favorite skin oil: MŪN’s Aknari Brightening Youth Serum. One drop on one side of my face and one drop on the other. My skin absolutely LOVES this product. MŪN is the first moisturizer I have found that noticeably improves my skin. Many creams cause irritation to my skin, but MŪN’s is a thin oil and my skin seems to drink it right up. I use it every morning and evening. Before, during, and after a flight I might double the amount I would normally use.
The morning before I leave for the airport: I use MŪN's Ayour Body Toning Serum that I discovered after falling so deeply in love with the face oil. It smells of lavender and adds a subtle touch of calmness for your senses.
When I am on the plane (red eye): I like to use three drops of Aknari on my skin before I take a nap. One drop under each eye and massage on my cheeks, the other drop is used and massaged into my t-zone. On the flight I like to travel with just the essentials: Aknari, contact solution, toothbrush & paste, and deodorant.
I drink lots of water and a glass of wine (okay, okay, I know wine is not hydrating, but I believe it’s good for thinning the blood and circulation, no?).
Beauty remedy after checking into a hotel: SLEEP! (6 hours jet-lag)
