Carolina Fontaneti's Travel Beauty Tips

For the third installment of our travel beauty series, we journey from Brazil to NYC with Carolina Fontaneti, a model who you may recognize as the face of MŪN. Carolina has recently signed with the Wilhelmina modeling agency and moved to New York from her native Brazil, but she has been working all across the globe since she was 17 so she is a frequent flyer indeed. Here’s her routine...

The Frequent Flyer: Carolina Fontaneti, Model, 30s, Normal to Oily Skin

The Trip: Brazil to NYC Red Eye | Duration: 10 hours

The Routine:

Just before flying: I like to moisturize my face well since I'm going to be losing so much moisture during the flight. For this I clean my face with MŪN’s Akwi cleanser and then apply MŪN’s Pure Argan Oil all over my body and the Aknari serum on my face, which shields my skin from the drying effects of the air conditioning on the flight. Traveling from Brazil to NY is not easy since it requires 10 hours on the plane plus airport time, which can be extremely exhausting.

On the flight: I always fly with a few travel sized products. My travel bag has to have: La Mer lip balm, nose drops, a serum for the face, and a toner. I love the Thyme Hydrosol from evanHealy and MŪN’s Anarose Toner. For the serum I bring MŪN’s Aknari; I really love how it smells which also brings me a sense of well being because of the dryness of the environment on the plane.

I also make sure I have a whole bottle of water by my side and I always, really ALWAYS, bring along a homemade meal. Either my boyfriend or I prepare the food I'm going to eat on the plane - it must be something easy to eat, filling, and organic. Flavor is also important, so I leave that to Fabio because he's the cook in the family.

Sometimes I travel accompanied by my cat Ninis so I also make sure he's got everything he needs, including his natural medicine to calm him down and a bowl of cat food so he can enjoy it the minute we land.

I also catch up on my reading and make sure I have downloaded my favorite music to listen to, something that calms my mind and helps me fall asleep.

Upon arrival: If I have the chance I take a bubble bath, otherwise I shower and wash my hair and go straight to bed to have a little invigorating nap. I also make sure to drink a lot of water to rehydrate my body and skin.

A mask to cleanse the impurities gathered due to traveling is also always welcome! I make my own mask with Raw Manuka Honey, turmeric, and cinnamon to help with my acne scars. Sometimes I add spirulina to the mixture instead of turmeric.
